One of our favorite Athens restaurants! Their lunch prices are great, and we love their varied selection of hibachi, sushi, noodles, and drinks. Highly recommend!
I have ordered to go here a handful of times. I mainly get the a la carte sashimi and a roll. Sometimes the hibachi if my boyfriend is with me since he does not like sushi. Their sashimi is high quality and so are their rolls. The hibachi is tasty though for the price the portions could be larger imo. The reason the review isn't 5 stars is today I went to order and I noticed they significantly raised their sashimi prices. $8.70 for 3 piece salmon sashimi is outrageous. So sad because they are the only place in Athens I could get good sashimi. If you don't mind paying a lot though, Sakura is definitely the best sushi place in Athens I've tried so far. Though tiger sushi just opened up downtown and I have yet to try them. Sakura always gets my order correct and has it out on time. The inside is very nicely decorated.
Went here for sushi and vibes we is usually get hibachi (which is super good) when I order from dash, but the sushi was a banger when I was there. Our service was fast even though it was very busy and our waitress was very attentive to our needs. The sushi was presented beautifully and I always love the sashimi plate on ice with the dry ice in the cup of water. It is just so pretty.
We had a party of 5 on a game day in October. The wait for the hibachi tables was a lot longer, but for a regular table, we waited less than 10 minutes! We got the edamame, which was sadly a little cold. Wished it was warmer. The salad was deliciousss and came drenched in dressing. The soup was good too! I got chicken and shrimp hibachi plate and it came with so much food! I thought it was really good! Others in my party said their food was a little cold though. If you're looking for good hibachi that's not in downtown Athens, this was pretty good!
The food is always wonderful! Servers and cooks are friendly. It can get overcrowded during the holidays but otherwise a relaxing environment.
